Hematological parameters of captive Siberian tigers (Panthera tigris altaica) from the Heilongjiang province, China

Hematology is an important tool for assessing the physiological status of individuals and often provides the first and only indicator of a disease. However, many factors, including biological, methodological, dietary and management variables, influence the haematological parameters of captive wild animals. The results of this study is the first to analyse haematological parameters in a large sample of Siberian tigers, and these values will be useful for monitoring the health of captive and free‐ranging Siberian tigers.

In this study, Exigo H400 hematology system was used.
